Mazda has officially announced updates for the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata, which include more safety features, an enhanced design, and — best of all — more power!
The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata will use the same MX-5 SKYACTIV®-G 2.0-liter engine as before, but it will offer more output. The updated engine is rated at 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 26 horsepower and 3 lb-ft of torque over the 2018 model.
In addition, the redline increases from 6,800 rpm to 7,500 rpm. Mazda engineers also increased the roadster’s performance by reducing internal friction and exhaust loss, resulting in an even smoother feel on the road.
Along with its power boost, buyers will have a variety of new style options to choose from. There will be new black metallic 17-inch wheels and an available brown canvas soft top. Inside, a telescoping steering wheel offers much-desired flexibility for tall drivers.
Starting in 2019, all MX-5 Miata vehicles will come standard with a rearview camera. There will also be newly available i-ACTIVESENSE™ features like Smart City Brake Support and Traffic Sign Recognition to enhance its overall safety and help you feel more confident on the road ahead.
